Who has a favorite painter? I do!

For some reason unknown even to myself I thought I might write about one of my interests: René François Ghislain Magritte who is my favorite painter.
Why? Many of his painting simply seem to reflect my state of mind...And yes I do realize it's weird. Other reasons are that I find his paintings original and, most of all, "different"(not a very good word here I know). It seems to me that he had a very peculiar outlook on life and that he saw some things in a way which no-one could and will ever be able to repeat. The reason for this may be that his mother committed suicide (drowned herself) and that he was present when they took her dead body out of the water...but I'd rather think that he was an individual. I usually don't approve of delving into other people's lives and knowing their biography by heart, but the way in which painters have to struggle in order to gain recognition is fascinating. And Magritte is no exception. Too bad most of them become really famous when they are long gone, dead, buried and can't benefit from their work whatsoever. So it goes...
If anyone would like to read about him or have a look at more of his painting there are links on my links list:)
I would be more than glad to read about your favorite painters! Really:)

What a great idea with those paintings. And of course I have one. My favorite painting is “Scream” by Munch (wow, what a surprise right). I have a reproduction of this painting on my wall in my room. I’ve got for my 18th birthday from my aunts and it was one of those huge-surprise presents. I don’t know why I like it but I guess it’s the mysterious mood. Anyway, you know me and my preferences. Greetings.
